On the tenth of Nisan, every man was instructed to take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household – and the lamb was to be kept in the house until the fourteenth day of the month. In John 12, Jesus was also welcomed into Jerusalem – the house of God – on a donkey, where the Israelites shouted, “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”. Jesus, is the Passover Lamb that is welcomed into our hearts and lives. He is to be welcomed as King. The more we open up the different parts of our lives to Him, He will rule and reign in greater measure in our lives. The King that John saw in Revelation, is in the form of a lamb. The familiar lyrics of the song we often sing, “Worthy is the Lamb, seated on the throne..” tells us it the Lamb that has the authority to rule. Jesus, our Passover Lamb works in us to also mold the Lamb-nature in us. This explains all the inner workings of the Holy Spirit in our lives – emphasizing the interior life of a Christian which we cannot neglect. Our inner lives are far greater and far superior than our external lives. It is in the internal that we access the eternal.
