Prepare Your Heart To Seek God

The meeting of “kairos” and the season of our life would result in the fulfillment of spiritual destinies. Whilst “kairos” is within the sovereignty of God, we can do what we should be doing by the help of the Spirit of God and by His grace. We are to discern the times and season and now indeed is the time to seek the Lord. From the different accounts in the Old Testament, it is highlighted to us on the importance of “preparing our hearts to seek God”. It left a deep impression in the heart and mind of God and it changed the way God dealt with His people. What does it mean to prepare our hearts to seek God? The word in the original language speaks of fixing our hearts or being determined and established about doing this one thing – which in our context is – seeking the Lord. It also speaks of a deliberate effort over a period of time. Having said this, we have to be also aware that it is God Who works in us to will and to do and He does this by dispensing His grace to prepare our hearts. We are to maintain our humility before Him. King David revealed an important key in our spiritual walk, i.e. the key of capturing memories or imaginations in our hearts and minds. By recollecting such memories and imaginations, something of the spiritual realm is released and we are energized to continue our journey in seeking the Lord.
