Jeremiah described the condition of God’s people in a very interesting way when he spoke as a prophet sent by God that God’s people did not know how to blush when committing evil against God. The conditions of the people of God, as described by Jeremiah, include covetousness, false dealing, superficial ministry, false teaching, no repentance, not knowing the judgment of God and rejecting the Word of God. God’s people did not know how to blush when they have committed abomination against God. Why did the people of God lose the ability to blush when they sinned against God? How can we regain the “ability to blush” again if we, like the Israelites, have gone down the path of not feeling ashamed despite committing abomination against God? May we take heed and allow God’s Word to bring correction, conviction, healing and restoration in our hearts and spirits.
