There are a few statements made by Jesus concerning the Kingdom of God that actually enlighten us on the reality of this realm. According to Jesus, His Kingdom is not of this world and this invisible Kingdom is within us. With this new perspective, the famous verse in Mathew 6:33 takes on a new dimension. The act of turning inward becomes more important than all the external activities put together. The account in 1 Samuel 30 gave us the enemy’s strategy in the end-times. Women, youths and children will be targeted and be placed in captivity. The obvious reason being, these groups of people have an important mandate and destiny in the end-times. David and his men were so terribly distressed by what they found. Ziklag is a place of stress and pressure that cause us to know what is truly in the inside of us. When David’s men turned against him, he just became so helpless. Then comes the interesting phrase, “David strengthened himself in the Lord”. The question is how did he do it? Clearly, it was an inward activity. The word “chazaq”, the Hebraic equivalent of “strengthened” has a few different shades of meanings that actually helps us to understand the different dimension of how David accessed the source of his strength in the Lord. We will live in a continual state of drawing and finding our strength in God when we have learned the secret of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
