Just as in the natural, a pregnant woman requires additional and special food intake, a child of God who is pregnant with the promise and destiny of God would also require much spiritual food. In the spirit realm, food is for both sustenance of life as well as for impartation. There are different accounts both in the Old Testament and the New Testament where God’s servants were given spiritual food to prepare them for the next season and the next assignment. In respect of impartation, there is another level of impartation, i.e. inner impartation. Our inner eyes and ears also receive inner impartation all the time which sometimes result in distorted hearing and seeing. Spiritual feeding is two-fold, that which is consumed and that which goes out from the heart. There is an important principle of guarding our hearts and mouths during the period if spiritual pregnancy. Lastly, during spiritual pregnancy, we have to set our hearts and minds focused on God and His promises. We have to understand when we are tested by the promise that He gave us.
